An Artist in the Making

"All the colors of the world

Are gifts of love to me,

With skill and trust

I take my brush

And place it carefully

So that my work a gift will be."

- Regina Reiter, 1997

My little budding artist. Always wanting to help with anything his mama might be attempting. Painting has become one of his favorite activities. As soon as the brushes and paint come out he runs to get his little stool and very special apron his great aunt made him.

In a previous life - back before I had The Little, I was a water colorist. While I don't often find time to sit down and become completely engrossed in a detailed painting like I did pre-child, I do find that spending time with him, experiencing the magic of color spreading across a newly soaked piece of heavy watercolor paper is magical. I feel like I've been blessed to experience this medium all over again through his eyes. It's a lovely gift, a child's imagination and creativity.

Yours in experiencing things all over again,
Simple Mama
