Celebrating 9 Years of Marriage

Yes it's true. We were married on New Years Eve Day.

We were young, broke, and wildly in love.

We didn't have money for a professional photographer. We managed the cheapest fun honeymoon we could afford. We looked with wide eyes to the future.

Nine years later we're fiscally sound, only as young as we think we are, and more in love today that we were yesterday.

There's so much I could tell you about my husband. About his caring, gentleness, fierceness, intelligence, humor, parenting. Words are simply inadequate to properly describe my feelings, my love for this man. He is my rock, my best friend, the person who knows the deepest, darkest parts of my soul and loves me regardless.

The past 9 years have flown by so quickly it's almost unimaginable. I'm looking forward to many, many more years with him by my side.

Happy Anniversary darling. I love you always and no matter what.

Simply,
Danita

  1. Aww, happy anniversary!

And what an awesome day to be married. Because then, on January 1, you can be like "hey, it feels like we got married last year." HA.

    I crack me up.

  2. Happy Anniversary! I loved reading this post as I, too, have been married for 9 years to my best friend (I was a July bride, though, not a New Year's bride)

Here's to many more years of happiness, humble beginnings, and true love!

    Best Wishes,
    Kara

  5. That's sweet! Happy Anniversary Danita! Tonight is the 9 year anniversary of Jordan's and my first kiss--we eloped 9 months later. Like you we were broke and wild about each other. Glad to hear that you have found the same happiness that we were lucky to find!

  8. Happy anniversary! In an age where some marriages don't even last a full year, seeing two people who are happy together and still in love after nine years in a heartening thing indeed!
