Oh, I have totally been there! I remember taking a shower one time when Elizabeth was a little less than 2. I came out and she was literally covered head to toe in lipstick, which, of course, never did come out of her t-shirt and shorts. It was so adorable, though, how she painted herself and after about 30 seconds I found the humor in it. I feel you on the drinking though. Sometimes, it's the only thing that gets me through with 4 kids' antics. :)
oh man! nothing that permanent but we have stickers all over the kid sized table. I'm sure we'll figure out a way to get them off but it's just one of those things.
This recently happened to my little man with a red sharpey marker. Takes quite awhile to wear off the skin. Yikes about the pants. Bummer. I know how that goes too.:)Lisa
Love those Sharpies, but not on the clothes! My 13 year old has bedecked her tennies with Sharpies. I'd get upset, except I did the exact same thing when I was a kid.
My youngest two are into decorating themselves with the textas lately, so I was glad to see I'm not the only one who goes through this!
I am smiling in sympathy:-) I came into the room the other day to find my newly prepared quilt squares cut into little pieces... sigh.Maybe if you add a few maker strokes of red and yellow you can call them the Jackson Pollock pants!!
oh my, sorry about the sharpie! I have a few walls like this :)
thanks for the laugh! when my oldest was little my hubby was in school. i was at work and he was home studying for exams and watching sienna. he fell asleep on the couch with a sharpie in his pocket. when he awoke, she had drawn with the sharpie all over his study papers.....and him! :) not as bad as the time he awoke to her having smeared her poop all over the shelves he and my dad had just built. he sleeps hard, i guess.
Sprinkle some paint on them and tell your family and friends he's just an inspiring Pollock, and those are his painting pants. He's a genius and his work will soon be hanging in the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. They'll be so distracted, no one will notice the marker and it will buy you some time to go shopping. haha.. Best of luck,Chrissy
I just busted out laughing, not only at the post title, and the action of The Sharpie, but also that you said this was one of the two pairs of britches that are good to wear out! My 3 yo son has done this again and again. And again. You are not alone!
doh! Tessa did a number on our hallway, the dog, her sister and library books (that cost us $125 to replace) with a black sharpie when she was just about 2.5breath deeply
I know Sharpie's say permanent marker, but I was able to save a shirt from hot pink Sharpie goodness by dabbing it over, and over, and over with 91% (or something 90ish) rubbing alcohol. There are two kinds, at least, and this one had the higher percentage in it. Anyway, eventually the marker actually did come out! However, you really do have a lot of decoration going on there... =)
