First I want to think all of you for your thoughtful comments regarding my post on consumerism. Your thoughts are so appreciated, and it's nice to know I'm not alone on this journey. I'm so thankful I have all of you to reach out to - friends that I've met in real life and friends I only know through the invention of the internet.
Speaking of friends...
When we drove to Boise a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit not only with one of my best friends in the whole world, but also with her parents, who I love dearly. They attended our wedding nearly 9 years ago. They helped us pack up our U-Haul when we moved across country to Georgia 8 years ago. They've been a constant in my life since I was a junior in high school and a visit home isn't complete unless I have the chance to see them.
I'm so blessed to have them in my life, and even more blessed that they gave me this beautiful nativity wall hanging to bring home with us.
The photo doesn't do this lovely piece of artwork justice. It positively glows.
Carl is indeed gifted with the scroll saw and has an Etsy store front - Scrolled by Carl -sadly with nothing in it at the moment. I have hopes however that he'll list items soon.
Thank you to my dear friends Carl and Dottie who have offered me much love, kindness and a second home all these years.
Yours in friendship,
Simple Mama

ReplyDeleteThank you ever so much for your kind loving support, Danita. You have been a good friend and the work was one of my first works I did when starting into scrolling art. I have just today started a blog called scrollsaw-dulcimer.blogspot.com come and visit occasionally.
